Booking and availability
Question 1: How do I book a clean?
Call or WhatsApp us on 07471 274012, send the quote form on our home page (it opens WhatsApp with your details filled in), or email hello@clean-haven.uk. Tell us your postcode, the type of clean and your preferred day, and we will come back to you with a quote and a time.
Question 2: Which days do you clean?
Our cleaning days are Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Keeping to these days means our slots stay reliable and your home is ready for the week ahead.
Question 3: How soon can you start?
It depends on which Friday to Sunday slots are free. Send us your postcode and preferred day and we will tell you the earliest date we can offer.
Question 4: Can I book a one-off clean?
Yes. Deep cleans and end of tenancy cleans are booked as one-off jobs. Our regular domestic cleaning is a weekly visit, so your home stays on top of things all week.
Question 5: Do I need to be home during the clean?
No. Many customers arrange a key or another way for us to get in, and others prefer to be at home. Either is fine, and we agree how access and keys will work when you book.
Question 6: What if I need to cancel or move a clean?
Let us know as early as you can by phone, WhatsApp or email and we will do our best to rearrange. The notice we need, and whether any charge applies to a late cancellation, is confirmed when you book. Our terms and conditions explain your cancellation rights in full.
Pricing and payment
Question 1: How much does a cleaner cost in Reading?
Regular cleaning is £18 per hour and deep cleaning is £20 per hour. End of tenancy cleaning starts from £190 per property, with the final price depending on the size and condition of the home.
Question 2: Is there a minimum number of hours?
Any minimum visit length is confirmed with your quote. It depends on the size of your home and the type of clean, so we can do a proper job every time.
Question 3: How is the end of tenancy price worked out?
End of tenancy cleans start from £190 per property. The final price depends on the number of rooms and the condition of the property, so send us a few details (and photos if you can) and we will give you an exact quote before we book.
Question 4: Do I pay extra for cleaning products?
No. We supply eco-friendly cleaning products as part of every clean, so there is nothing extra to buy.
Question 5: How do I pay?
How and when to pay is confirmed when you book, so you know exactly what to expect before your first clean.
What is included
Question 1: What does a regular clean include?
A regular clean covers dusting and vacuuming throughout; kitchen worktops, hob and sink; bathrooms cleaned and sanitised; floors mopped; bins emptied and general tidy; eco-friendly products included. If there is a room or task you would like us to focus on, just tell us.
Question 2: What is the difference between a regular clean and a deep clean?
A regular clean keeps your home fresh week to week. A deep clean includes everything in a regular clean plus the jobs that build up over time, such as inside the oven, fridge and microwave; skirting boards, doors and frames; limescale removal in bathrooms; window sills, light switches and sockets; behind and under movable furniture.
Question 3: Can I choose what you focus on?
Yes. Every clean is tailored to your home. Tell us what matters most, whether that is the kitchen, the bathrooms or a particular job, and we will build the visit around it.
Question 4: Is there anything you do not clean?
We do not handle biohazards such as bodily fluids, needles or pest infestations, work at height that cannot be reached safely, or move heavy furniture and appliances. If you are unsure whether a job is included, ask us before you book.
End of tenancy
Question 1: What does an end of tenancy clean include?
A full clean of the property, room by room, including: oven and appliance deep clean; inside cupboards, drawers and wardrobes; bathrooms descaled and polished; windows cleaned inside; checklist matched to letting agent standards.
Question 2: Will I get my deposit back?
We clean to the standard letting agents and landlords look for, but the decision about your deposit is made by your landlord, letting agent or deposit scheme, so no cleaner can guarantee it. If the check-out report raises anything about the clean, tell us straight away.
Question 3: Does the property need to be empty?
End of tenancy cleans work best once your belongings have been moved out, so we can reach inside cupboards, wardrobes and every corner. If some items will still be there, let us know when you ask for a quote.
Question 4: Is the oven included in an end of tenancy clean?
Yes. The oven and the other kitchen appliances are cleaned as part of every end of tenancy clean, because they are one of the first things an inventory clerk checks.
Products and safety
Question 1: Do I need to supply cleaning products?
No. We bring eco-friendly cleaning products to every visit. If you would like us to use your own products on a particular surface, just let us know.
Question 2: What if I have pets, children or allergies at home?
We use eco-friendly products, and we are happy to plan around pets, children and allergies. Tell us about anything we should know when you book, such as pets that need to stay in a certain room or products you prefer us to avoid.
Question 3: How do you look after delicate or valuable items?
We take care with everything in your home. Please tell us about any fragile, valuable or sentimental items, or surfaces that need special care such as natural stone or antique wood, and put away cash and jewellery before the clean.
Question 4: Are you insured?
Please ask us about insurance when you get in touch and we will give you the details before you book.
Areas covered
Question 1: Which areas do you cover?
We clean homes in Reading only, covering the RG1, RG2, RG4, RG6, RG30, RG31 postcodes. That includes Reading town centre, Caversham, Tilehurst, Earley, Whitley and Woodley.
Question 2: Do you cover areas outside Reading?
